Right Tools For The Job

Tracy called to say that a tree had fallen across the driveway. I groaned at the thought of starting a chainsaw. I despise 2-stroke engines.

But then I had an epiphany: the right tool for the job.

When I was younger, I was all about the biggest and baddest tools. I wanted to impress with their sheer power. But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that sometimes, the simplest solution is the best.

Case in point: the folding saw.

I’ve been using a folding saw for years now, and it’s become my go-to for all sorts of tasks around the yard. Need to prune sagos, trim pine tree limbs, or tackle unruly fan palms? The folding saw effortlessly handles them all.

And the best part? No more wrestling with fuel, oil, or struggling to start a chainsaw.

The folding saw is lightweight and portable, and it fits perfectly in the back seat pocket of a vehicle or under the mower seat for quick access. No need to worry about breaking or dulling blades either – I’ve never broken or worn one out yet.

Compared to the price, frustration, and risks associated with chainsaws, folding saws simply can’t be beaten.

Added bonus – no electricity needed either. Great for small building projects where electricity can be an issue.

There are tons of brands out there that are likely just as good, but I’ve only owned the Corona 10-Inch RazorTooth Folding Saw. It’s a great saw, and I highly recommend it. If you go to buy a different saw, I would definitely recommend grabbing one with a curved blade. You will thank me later.

As for the tree in the driveway, I never even considered loading the chainsaw. I just jumped in the truck, grabbed the folding saw and gloves, and within 5 minutes had it cut and loaded. I couldn’t have gathered the chainsaw, gas and oil that quick, let alone got the dang thing started.

So if you’re looking for a versatile, affordable, and safe tool for yard work, I highly recommend a folding saw like the Corona 10-Insch RazorTooth.
